Flosstube

Youtube is bad enough but Flosstube... is pure evil. With all those Stitch Maynias, rotations and WIP I lost myself. And hot and sticky weather does not help either - unable to do anything involving wool or lots of movement.
Cannot believe I used to be a one project girl. Than I added something tiny to my bag to stitch in traffic jams and waiting rooms. Later I started a small project for my weekends when I go visit parents or go on vacations. A month ago I added one more big project - one to stitch in the mornings, another for afternoons.
Now I have this:
Morning Dimensions

Afternoon XiuCrafts

Two evening projects

Something simple for weekends

Plus Pemin minis for my bag (everything is ready for the first stitch).
Isn't this crazy?!

Tiny finish

This tiny project took a long time to finish, as it was my car-travel/standing-in-queue work and with cotton spinning taking most of my free time... not much left for Tom Mouse.
This was a free kit with one of the Cross-stitch Card Shop magazines.

Warm and Fuzzy finish

I am done with my Dimensions kit Warm and Fuzzy. Took me almost three months to finish. First it was my week-end project but during the last month it became an evening project as well.
I made monthly progress photos to remember the process.

I do not remember when I last recieved any packages in the mail from a real person not an online shop, ten or fifteen years ago?...
Today is a happy day because a got a fragrant gift from a wonderful and generous fellow crafter - Araignee
Thank you very much! Whatever you make you make it perfect!

Time to weave?

Summer has come. The sun is shining.

Isn't it the perfect time to weave in mohair?
I guess, it is!

I have started this wonderfull shawl. It is so soft and silky. I hope to manage the lace and balanced weave.

Sashiko thingy

I am done with my Sashiko tray doily? Insert?  I-am-not-sure-how-it's-called thingy.
Floral binding is a bit out of place but still... Loved the process. Need to stitch some more.

Ma'amouls

In my opinion everything baked/cooked with proper tools must taste good. Even if you have to wait for 10 years to get those proper tools.
Now I can bake cookies like a real Middle Eastern housewife.
Today's dish of the day - ma'amouls with dates filling. Mint Moroccan tea will be served later in the evening.

Sashiko. Kind of...

I'm falling in love with Kogin embroidery.
Tried some using different materials I already have at home. Did not work well.
Second step - to buy original materials online. Not so easy. I found the fabric I need in Australia and this could be very good news but... $75 for shipment kind of putting me off. Still considering.
However, the desire is bugging me.
So, being inspired by a fellow embroiderer, I am trying something that can be considered a combination of sashiko and kogin. It's sashiko pattern stitched by counting threads.
I found an odd piece of 28 ct linen and linen/bamboo yarn I used for weaving towels some time ago.

I am loving this! Although my idea of cutting corners backfired. I thought stitching over eight threads would save some time and effort - big mistake. It would be much easier to count less number of threads. Nevertheless, love every minute of the process.
