Slippers

I am not a swatch person, too lazy. That's why many of my knitting projects are borderline disasters.

I started those slippers three times and still managed to screw up.... Not entirely though.

Had a small ball of Berroco Suede (nylon). The plan was to make slippers to wear over wooly socks for protection. Good thing I can also crochet. This saved the situation. 

In the end they turned out kind of cute. 

Camisette finale

My last 2015 project is finished - Camisette from Jane Austin Knits (Fall 2012).

I am not entially satisfied with the result but it is wearable.

My filet camisette is moving slowly...
But as it is only 25 rows long, it may be finished soon.

Daily quotas

I do not like to set deadlines, they add more pressure. 

But sometimes they can be very useful:

1. Two sleeves on my Viticetum Coat are done (started last October).

2. Crochet top from cotton/lines yarn is finished.

3. Loopy cloth is moving on.

4. Pagoda View is in the process.

5. New runner project is almost on the loom.

Slippers

As promised, proudly present slippers knitted from hand-spun yarn.

Bedside loopy rugs

Once upon a time I bought a book on Tea Cozies. The first one I knitted was Chenille Chic.

I liked its loopy structure that reminded me of a rug. So I decided to knit a couple of bedside rugs for the bedroom. However, very soon I realized that this kind of loop making in rayon chenille yarn will kill my wrists. Another solution was needed. Weaving was my next choice.

I was so happy to begin but... after a couple of picks I noticed that I would not be able to finish as my Rigid Heddle was too harsh on the yarn and it started to shred to threads almost immediately.

Bad luck again.

The only way left was crochet. And it turned out to be the right way. The result almost the same as knitted loops but the method is easier on the hands.

Killing time...

Crochet is a great thing if you need to kill time while standing in lines, during lunch breaks or in traffic jams. Those precious minutes can yield pretty things. Mine gave birth to a laundry basket edging:

Little beauties

First question I asked myself after buying 12 tiny hand-dyes cottons - what to do with them?
Solution: Handkerchiefs with crochet cotton edging.

At first I was planning just to add simple edging to every cloth square

Although thread balls were very tiny, there was enough thread for an embellishment. Every hankie got its doily.
